How to Change Your Subscription Plan

A guide for Workspace Owners to change their Folktale subscription plan, update their payment method, and view transaction history.

This guide is for Workspace Owners only. Plans & Billing is not accessible to Admins or any other role. If you need to change your plan and are not the workspace Owner, contact your Owner directly.


Overview

Plans & Billing is where you view your current Folktale plan, switch to a different plan, update your payment method, and review past transactions. All of these actions are in one place inside Workspace Settings.


Folktale has four plans: Free, Starter, Pro, and Enterprise. Each plan unlocks a different set of features and campaign limits. If you are unsure which plan is right for your organisation, see the plan comparison in the Plans & Billing tab or contact support@folktale.io.


Workspace Setting: Plans and Billing

  1. Sign in and go to your Folktale Dashboard.
  2. In the left panel, open the workspace dropdown and select the workspace whose plan you want to change.
  3. Click the Settings button in the left panel to open Workspace Settings.


The Plans & Billing tab shows your current plan and what it includes.

  1. Click the Plans & Billing tab, and then click the Change plan button.
  2. Review the available plans and select the one you want to move to.
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to confirm the change.

💡 Note: Upgrading takes effect immediately. Downgrading takes effect at the end of your current billing period. If you downgrade to a plan with fewer campaigns than you currently have active, you will need to archive campaigns before the change can be applied.


Update Your Payment Method

  1. In the Plans & Billing tab, scroll to the payment method section.
  2. Click the option to update your payment details and enter your new card or billing information.
  3. Save your changes.

⚠️ Important: Make sure your payment method is up to date to avoid any interruption to your plan. If a payment fails, your workspace may be downgraded to Free until billing is resolved.


View Transaction History

Past invoices and transaction details are available in the Plans & Billing tab.

  1. Scroll down to the transaction history section to see a record of your past payments.
  2. Click any transaction to view or download the invoice.
