Understanding the Homepage Dashboard

A guide for all users to navigate the Homepage Dashboard, including the left panel, activity feed, submissions, and followed campaigns.


🎯 Who is this for?

This guide is for all Folktale users.

The Homepage Dashboard is the first screen you see after signing in. What you see here depends on your role - Admins, Collaborators, and Managers will see workspace and campaign sections, while all users can access their activity feed, submissions, and followed campaigns.


Overview

The Homepage Dashboard is your central starting point in Folktale. It gives you a view of your workspace, your campaigns, your reports, and a live feed of activity on your account. From here, you can navigate to everything you need.


The Left Panel

The left panel is your primary navigation. It is organised into four sections from top to bottom.


Workspace Section

At the top of the left panel, you will see the Workspace section. This shows the workspaces you own and the current status of your Folktale account.

  • Workspace Dashboard. Click your workspace name to open the
  • Workspace Settings. Click the settings icon to open

Campaign Section

Below the workspace settings is the Campaign section. This lists all the campaigns you have created or been assigned to.

  • Click any campaign title to open its dashboard.
  • Click the Create new campaign button to start building a new campaign.

💡 Note: If you are a Manager or Reviewer, you will only see campaigns you have been assigned to. Admins and Owners see all campaigns in the workspace.

Reporting Section

Below the Campaign section is the Reporting section. This is where you can create and manage reports generated from your campaign data.


The Main Area: Dashboard Tabs

The main area of the Homepage Dashboard has three tabs. Each gives you a different view of your activity and contributions.


Activity Feed

The Activity Feed is a real-time list of updates across your account. It shows what is happening — new responses received, campaign status changes, comments, and other events relevant to your campaigns and workspace.

My Submissions

The My Submissions tab shows all the campaigns you have personally contributed to as a respondent. This includes any stories or surveys you have submitted to other people's campaigns.

Following

The Following tab shows all the campaigns you are following or have previously contributed to. Use this tab to keep track of campaigns you are interested in, even if you are not running them.
